MEET THE CREW: Airton Dittz
Airton Dittz, Director Of Photography for ”Little t“
What were your favorite lighting environments to work on in your career so far?
My favorite lighting environments that I've had the opportunity to work on in my career so far would be the moody atmosphere of "Up," which was definitely a highlight for me. Additionally, the final sequence in "Coco," where I got to blend humans and ghosts in a captivating way, was also a personal favorite.
What interested you in “Little t” as a project?
What interested me in "Little t" as a project was its really graphic and fresh look, which was quite different from what we usually do at Pixar. The project presented a lot of constraints that challenged us creatively to achieve the desired look. Bringing this unique vision to life, especially in overcoming the 2D aspects, was a fascinating aspect of the project. The most challenging part was making sure the line work was sufficiently illustrative, and that proved to be quite a rewarding endeavor.
What was your favorite moment in the film? My favorite moment in the film was the first shot of the cafe. It served as an establishing shot, and I loved how it required a delicate balance of lighting and compositing work to bring it to life. It was a challenging and rewarding scene to work on, and seeing it come together so beautifully made it a standout moment for me.
Favorite dessert/comfort food: flan!
